As an early career scientist and future independent investigator, my goal is to encourage, inspire, and support trainees to pursue careers in neuroscience and build a sense of belonging within the scientific community.
Projects
What instructs the assembly of circuit formation during early development? How do genetics inform on circuit development, and can we link genetic mutations with wiring pathologies?
CRISPR editing in the developing brain
How can we use CRISPR technology to investigate brain wiring? How can current CRISPR technology be modified to be more precise, more efficient, and even perform new functions?
Neuropsychiatric risk-gene dosage
How do changes in gene dosage affect circuit wiring that can lead to neuropsychiatric disorders? How can we better model polygenic diseases like schizophrenia?
